NOTICE TO SAFARI OWNERS REGARDING UPGRADE BLADE GRIP BOLTS

We have located a new source for a stronger fastener system for attachment of the main rotor blades to the rotor grips.  While the current fasteners have been in use for some time without any failures, we have proven the replacements to have greater tensile strength.  We do not recommend re-using the previous bolts if you have cause to remove them.

These bolts, washers, and nuts can be identified most easily by the color of the yellow zinc plating.  We began shipping these fasteners in June of 2015.

If you choose to replace the fasteners on your blades, the new fasteners are in stock at a cost of $189.00 plus shipping for a complete set of bolts, washers, and locknuts.

The application of proper torque is very important to the tensile strength of this fastener system.  Correct torque value is:

5/16” bolts – 17 foot pounds
3/8” bolts – 38 foot pounds
