CHR, manufacturers of the multi award winning Safari Helicopter Kit, are continually working on ways to better the flying ability of not only the Safari, but other kit built and certified helicopters. One of their most recent innovations is a set of tracking lights that will fit most two bladed and three bladed helicopter systems. The tracking lights will show what is happening with the main rotor blades, relative to each other, in both hover and forward flight, for tracking blade variances. Adjustments to blade tracking becomes a one person operation, with a much lower cost than the normal two person activity with strobe lights.

Safari Extended Maintenance Schedule

Through long and thorough testing, we have reached a decision to extend the maintenance intervals and TBO time for the Safari. To date the maintenance intervals for the Safari have been set at 200 hours, almost two years of flying for most private pilots.

The Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) is now accepting Group Aviation Insurance applications for amateur built helicopter aircraft, in Canada. Brochures on how to apply are available through the COPA website.
COPA's insurance is available to Canadian residents who are paid up COPA members.

Safari Extended Blades

Safari - South Africa Approval

Vic Venter, South African businessman and well-known flyer, will be opening his dealership in Alberton, SA, close to Johannesburg. Baby Belle Takes On New Name - Safari

For the past eight years, the kit building community has enjoyed seeing, talking about and building the Baby Belle, a design that goes back to 1953 when the original design was introduced as the Helicom kit helicopter. Later, the design changed and became the Commuter IIB. The third generation came out in 1992 and by public demand, called it the Baby Belle.
