After a long struggle with illness,  Bill "Flangehead" Meyer has passed away.  Many in the experimental helicopter community know him as the driving force behind the organization and management of Choppertown at the SunNFun Air Show in Lakeland, Florida.  Those of us who knew Bill and Bobbie realized that SunNFun 2011 would likely by Bill's last show, and quite a show it was.  One little tornado was not enough to stop Bill, and he demonstrated the ?*$@* and vinegar that made him uniquely "Flangehead".  Bill's drive and determination were the reason "Choppertown" existed at the show, and he will be missed by us all.

2011 Oshkosh Winners

 

 Congratulations to Dan Suddeth and Steve Michael on their awards at Airventure 2011 at Oshkosh Wisconsin. 

Dan Suddeth - Silver Lindy- Reserve Grand Champion

Steve Michael- Ken Brock Workmanship Award for the hard work that went into repairs after his helicopter was damaged earlier this year at Sun-N-Fun.
